Adult eye care is very important as there are many conditions that are asymptomatic and that can be detected through ocular exams.  A regular ocular exam is very important in determining your overall health and maintaining optimal vision.  An ocular exam can determine many underlying health issues such as high blood pressure and Type 2 diabetes to brain or eye tumors.  Also, numerous ocular conditions can be determined such as cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration which can start with no symptoms.

Generally, adults aged 19 to 64 should have ocular exams at least every 2 years unless there other other underlying conditions such has Type 1 or 2 diabetes or certain ocular conditions which needed to be monitored with more frequency.  At age 65 and older, the ocular examination frequency should be once a year to maintain optimal vision.
